Senior Business Resilience Manager
Overview
A leading financial services organization is seeking a Senior Business Resilience Manager to lead and enhance its enterprise-wide resilience framework. This individual will play a key role in ensuring the organization can effectively prepare for, respond to, and recover from operational disruptions while maintaining critical services, protecting stakeholders, and supporting regulatory expectations.
The position will partner closely with leaders across operations, technology, risk, legal, communications, and executive management to strengthen continuity capabilities, crisis preparedness, recovery planning, and resilience testing programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and mature the organization's Business Continuity and Operational Resilience programs.
- Lead business impact analyses, critical process assessments, dependency mapping, and resilience strategy development.
- Coordinate continuity planning efforts across business units and ensure plans remain current, practical, and aligned to business priorities.
- Facilitate crisis response activities during significant operational events and support executive decision-making throughout incidents.
- Partner with technology teams to align business continuity requirements with disaster recovery capabilities and recovery objectives.
- Develop and execute enterprise-wide testing programs, including tabletop exercises, recovery simulations, notification testing, and scenario-based exercises.
- Deliver reporting to senior leadership and governance committees regarding program effectiveness, readiness, emerging risks, and remediation efforts.
- Monitor evolving threats and operational risks that could impact business services, personnel, facilities, vendors, or technology environments.
- Maintain continuity-related training, awareness initiatives, playbooks, procedures, and employee guidance materials.
- Drive post-incident reviews and lessons-learned activities to continuously improve organizational resilience.
Desired Background
- 10+ years of experience in business continuity, operational resilience, crisis management, disaster recovery, operational risk, or related disciplines.
- Experience within financial services, banking, insurance, fintech, or another highly regulated environment preferred.
- Strong understanding of business continuity lifecycle management, business impact analysis, crisis management, and recovery planning.
- Experience working closely with technology organizations, including cloud-based environments and disaster recovery programs.
- Professional certifications such as CBCP, MBCP, or equivalent preferred.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with experience influencing executive leadership and cross-functional teams.
- Strong communication, facilitation, project management, and problem-solving abilities.
