Macro Quantitative Researcher

We are seeking a talented Macro Quantitative Researcher to join our large multi-strat hedge fund based in London. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about quantitative research and systematic trading to be part of a dynamic and collaborative team.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Alpha Research: Generate ideas, gather data, conduct research and analysis, implement models, and perform back testing. You will be responsible for identifying new alpha sources and developing strategies to capitalise on them.
  • Strategy Development: Focus on intraday macro strategies, including FX, futures, OTC rates, and ETFs. You will work on creating and refining trading strategies that leverage macroeconomic trends and market movements.
  • Data Analysis & Model Building: Utilise financial insights and statistical techniques to build predictive models for our investment process. You will analyse large datasets to uncover patterns and insights that can inform trading decisions.

Preferred Technical Skillset:

  • Programming: Strong experience in Python. You should be proficient in writing efficient and scalable code to handle large datasets and complex models.
  • Education: Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in a quantitative subject (Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, etc.) from a top-ranked university.

Highly Valued Technical Experience:

  • C++ Programming: Experience with C++ is highly valued. Knowledge of C++ will be beneficial for optimising performance-critical components of our trading systems.

Preferred Experience:

  • Quantitative Research: 1-5 years of experience in a quantitative research role focusing on systematic macro or equities strategies.
