Investment Banking Associate | TMT

Selby Jennings is partnering with a leading Elite Boutique investment banking advisory firm, seeking an Associate to join its TMT investment banking team. The group advises publicly traded companies, private equity sponsors, and strategic acquirers on mergers & acquisitions, capital raises, and other strategic advisory assignments across the technology ecosystem.

The Associate will play a critical role in transaction execution, financial analysis, client communications, and business development initiatives while working closely with senior bankers and junior team members.

Responsibilities

  • Execute sell-side and buy-side M&A transactions, capital raises, and strategic advisory engagements.
  • Develop and maintain complex financial models, including DCF, trading comparables, precedent transactions, merger models, and LBO analyses.
  • Prepare client presentations, confidential information memoranda, management presentations, and other transaction materials.
  • Conduct industry and company research across technology subsectors, including software, IT services, fintech, cybersecurity, internet, digital infrastructure, semiconductors, and emerging technology.
  • Coordinate due diligence processes and interact with management teams, investors, and third-party advisors.
  • Manage transaction timelines and support multiple live deal processes simultaneously.
  • Review and mentor Analyst work product while helping maintain quality and accuracy across deliverables.
  • Support senior bankers in originating new business opportunities and developing client relationships.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of investment banking experience, preferably within M&A advisory.
  • Strong transaction execution experience and advanced financial modeling capabilities.
  • Prior experience advising technology companies is preferred but not required.
  • Excellent analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Bachelor's degree with a strong academic record.
