About the Role
We are working with a leading specialist Financial Institutions advisory platform seeking to hire a Senior Analyst 2/3 or Associate to join its growing London team.
The successful candidate will play a key role in the execution of complex M&A and strategic advisory transactions across the Financial Institutions sector, with exposure to Banks, Wealth & Asset Management, Speciality Finance, and FinTech clients. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious investment banking professional looking to take on greater responsibility, gain direct client exposure, and support the development of junior team members within a highly regarded FIG franchise.
Responsibilities
- Support the execution of M&A and strategic advisory transactions across the Financial Institutions sector.
- Build and maintain complex financial models, valuation analyses, merger models, and transaction materials.
- Prepare pitch books, management presentations, information memoranda, and other client-facing materials.
- Conduct detailed company, industry, and market analysis across banking, wealth & asset management, specialty finance, and fintech subsectors.
- Coordinate due diligence processes and work alongside clients, legal advisers, and other transaction stakeholders.
- Work directly with senior bankers on live transactions and business development initiatives.
- Take ownership of key workstreams and transaction deliverables.
- Support, mentor, and review the work of junior analysts, helping to develop their technical and execution capabilities.
Requirements
- 2-3 years of Investment Banking, Corporate Finance, or M&A Advisory experience.
- Proven experience executing M&A transactions within the Financial Institutions sector.
- Strong deal exposure across one or more of the following:
- Banks
- Wealth & Asset Management
- Specialty Finance
- FinTech
- Excellent financial modelling and valuation skills.
- Strong commercial awareness and understanding of transaction processes.
- Outstanding analytical, communication, and presentation abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple live assignments in a fast-paced environment.
Target Candidate Profile
We are particularly interested in candidates currently working within:
- Specialist FIG investment banking and advisory teams.
- FIG-focused M&A boutiques.
- Big 4 Corporate Finance or Lead Advisory teams with demonstrable FIG M&A transaction experience.
Candidates must have hands-on involvement in live and completed M&A transactions and a genuine interest in building a long-term career advising financial institutions.
