About the Role
We are partnering with a leading organization in the financial services and technology space to identify an Intnernal Audit Associate. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced audit professional to play a pivotal role in strengthening the internal audit function and driving risk-based assurance across the European region.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and deliver end-to-end internal audit engagements, including planning, risk assessment, fieldwork, reporting, and follow-up.
- Provide actionable recommendations to management and support remediation efforts.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, procedures, and EU regulations.
- Assess internal controls, risk management, and governance processes in line with IIA Standards.
- Contribute to the enhancement of audit methodologies and tools.
- Perform spot checks and ad hoc reviews to strengthen assurance.
- Stay updated on EU legislation, GDPR, ESG frameworks, and sector-specific regulations.
- Collaborate with external auditors on financial statement audits, compliance reviews, and SOC 1 & SOC 2 engagements.
Ideal Candidate
- Experience: 5 + years in internal or external audit, ideally with Big 4 exposure within the EU.
- Industry Background: Financial services, fintech, or crypto experience preferred.
- Education: Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree is a plus.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with MiCAR, AMLD implementation, and guidance from ESMA/EBA.
- Skills: Strong communication, stakeholder management, and ability to deliver under deadlines.
- Expertise in: AML, financial crime, risk management, cryptocurrency operations, cybersecurity, and data privacy.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or equivalent.
- Highly proactive, resilient, and goal-oriented.
- Ability to anticipate emerging risks and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
- International mindset and experience working in multicultural, cross-border teams.
