HR Manager - start up asset management
Our client is a fast-growing asset management firm with ambitious expansion plans across Asia. As the organization's first dedicated HR professional, you will play a critical role in shaping the firm's people strategy, culture, and HR infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with senior leadership on organizational growth and people strategies
- Advise managers on employee relations, performance management, and workforce planning
- Support the development of a positive, high-performance culture
- Manage the full recruitment lifecycle across investment, corporate, and support functions
- Develop hiring processes and employer branding initiatives
- Partner with external recruitment firms and manage hiring budgets
- Establish and maintain HR policies, procedures, and employee handbooks
- Oversee onboarding, offboarding, and employee lifecycle processes
- Ensure accurate employee records and HR documentation
- Support compensation benchmarking and annual review processes
- Administer employee benefits, insurance, and wellness programs
- Partner with external vendors and service providers
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline
- 5+ years of progressive HR experience, preferably within asset management, investment management, hedge funds, private equity, financial services, or professional services environments
- Proven experience managing a broad range of HR functions independently
- Strong understanding of Hong Kong employment law and HR best practices
- Hands-on, entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to build processes from scratch
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Fluent English required; Mandarin or Cantonese would be advantageous
