Head of Data & AI
Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Execution
Define and lead the organization's AI strategy, aligned with business priorities
Translate strategy into practical, deployable AI use cases with measurable impact
Remain hands-on in solution design, architecture, and key technical decisions
AI / GenAI Development
Actively contribute to the development of AI/ML and GenAI solutions (e.g., LLMs, RAG, agent frameworks)
Review code, guide model development, and ensure best practices in implementation
Lead prototyping and rapid experimentation for new AI initiatives
Platform & Infrastructure Ownership
Architect and oversee scalable AI platforms (data pipelines, model lifecycle, MLOps)
Work closely with data engineering teams to ensure robust, production-grade systems
Evaluate and implement modern tools across cloud and AI ecosystems
Team Leadership
Build and mentor a high-performing AI team while staying actively involved in delivery
Set technical standards and foster a strong engineering culture
Balance delegation with direct contribution on critical initiatives
Stakeholder Engagement
Partner closely with business leaders to identify and prioritize AI opportunities
Translate complex technical concepts into clear business value
Drive adoption of AI solutions across the organization
Governance & Best Practices
Establish frameworks for model governance, monitoring, and ethical AI
Ensure solutions meet security, compliance, and data privacy requirements
Requirements
Experience
10-15+ years in AI, machine learning, or data engineering
Proven experience leading teams while remaining hands-on in technical delivery
Track record of building and deploying AI solutions in production environments
Technical Expertise
Strong hands-on experience with:
Machine learning and deep learning
GenAI (LLMs, RAG, agent-based systems)
Python and modern ML frameworks
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and scalable architectures
Strong understanding of MLOps and data engineering concepts
Leadership
Comfortable switching between strategy and execution
Strong ownership and problem-solving mindset
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment
