Financial Reporting Manager
Selby Jennings is exclusively partnered with a privately held energy investment and asset management firm specializing in acquiring, managing, and enhancing mature upstream oil and gas assets. The firm is continuing to scale & is looking for a Financial Reporting Manager to lead their financial reporting activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP/IFRS.
- Assist in the preparation of SEC filings (10-K, 10-Q, 8-K) and other regulatory reports, if applicable.
- Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and analysis.
- Analyze financial data and trends to support management decision-making.
- Maintain and improve internal controls over financial reporting.
- Collaborate with accounting, tax, and operations teams to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
- Assist in the implementation of new accounting standards and reporting tools.
- Participate in special projects and process improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or progress toward CPA preferred.
- 4+ years of experience within public accounting (Big 4 preferred).
- Knowledge of upstream & midstream industries is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting software (e.g., Workiva, Oracle, SAP).
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
- Experience with SEC reporting and public company filings.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and data visualization tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
