Company Overview
Our client specializes in mineral resources and metals trading. As part of its ongoing expansion, the company is seeking a Fertilizer Trader to strengthen its presence in the Asian market.
Position Summary
Reporting to the Senior Trading Manager, the Fertilizer Trader will be responsible for cultivating relationships with fertilizer producers across China and Southeast Asia to uncover trading opportunities. The role also involves managing existing client accounts and overseeing contract execution.
Success in this position requires in-depth knowledge of the fertilizer market, including supply chains, raw material economics, production methods, and trade flows. Key responsibilities include:
- Identifying and sourcing strategic trading and investment opportunities
- Conducting due diligence and building financial models
- Collaborating with internal teams to develop structured trading solutions
- Traveling regularly for market engagement and site visits
- Preparing market reports and presentations
- Conducting market research and maintaining relevant databases
- Providing market updates and supporting book management through trade execution, pricing analysis, and broker relationship management
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will have:
- A degree in business or a related discipline
- A minimum of 3 years' experience in fertilizer trading, preferably within a trading house
- A strong network across Southeast Asia and China
- The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while managing multiple priorities
