EM Cross Asset Sales
Role Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced Emerging Markets Cross Asset Sales professional to join our Global Markets team at Vice President level. The role focuses on delivering comprehensive solutions across Rates and FX products to institutional clients, with a strong emphasis on South African coverage and broader Sub-Saharan Africa relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Originate and execute EM Rates and FX flow and structured transactions for institutional clients (banks, asset managers, hedge funds, corporate).
- Develop and maintain deep relationships with clients in South Africa and Sub-Saharan Africa, acting as a trusted advisor for their investment and risk management needs.
- Collaborate closely with trading desks across EM Rates, FX, and Cross Asset Solutions to provide competitive pricing and liquidity.
- Drive revenue growth by identifying opportunities in local currency and hard currency products, including swaps, forwards, options, and structured hedging solutions.
- Deliver market intelligence and trade ideas, leveraging macroeconomic and geopolitical insights relevant to African markets.
- Ensure compliance with internal risk frameworks and regulatory requirements while optimising client solutions.
Candidate Profile
- 7+ years of experience in Emerging Markets Sales, ideally with a strong background in Rates and FX.
- Proven track record of client coverage in South Africa and/or Sub-Saharan Africa.
- Strong understanding of EM macro drivers, local currency markets, and cross-asset dynamics.
- Excellent communication and relationship management skills with ability to originate and close complex transactions.
- Familiarity with structured solutions and derivatives is a plus.
- Degree in Finance, Economics, or related field; CFA or similar qualifications advantageous.
