A national wholesale insurance brokerage is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Assistant Underwriter to support its commercial lines team. This role is ideal for someone looking to grow within a fast-paced, broker-centric environment that values both efficiency and relationship-building.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist underwriters in reviewing and processing new and renewal submissions
- Prepare quotes, binders, and policy documents using internal systems and carrier portals
- Communicate with retail agents to gather missing information and clarify coverage details
- Maintain accurate records and ensure timely follow-up on outstanding items
- Support the team in managing carrier relationships and tracking production metrics
- Help streamline workflows and contribute to process improvements
Qualifications:
- 1-3 years of experience in insurance, preferably in commercial lines or wholesale brokerage
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment
- Familiarity with carrier portals and quoting platforms preferred
- P&C license a plus or willingness to obtain
