Structured Products - Trading Associate
Overview
A growing alternative investment manager is seeking a Trading Associate to join its structured credit team. The firm invests across public and private credit markets and focuses on asset‑backed opportunities. The role offers hands‑on exposure to a wide range of securitized products and the opportunity to work directly with experienced traders, portfolio managers, and risk professionals. This is a full‑time, on‑site position based in Boulder, Colorado.
Responsibilities
- Support traders in the analysis and execution of transactions across ABS, MBS, CLOs, and other securitized products.
- Build, refine, and maintain financial models to assess pricing, risk, and return across structured credit opportunities.
- Track market developments, economic releases, and sector‑specific trends to generate insights and trading observations.
- Conduct pre‑trade evaluation and post‑trade performance reviews to support execution quality and portfolio accuracy.
- Assist in portfolio construction and optimization efforts by identifying relative‑value opportunities and risk‑adjusted trade ideas.
- Collaborate with internal research, risk, and structuring teams to enhance analytics and support investment decision‑making.
- Improve internal tools, dashboards, and analytics used to monitor positions, valuations, and market conditions.
- Prepare periodic reports and summaries for senior investment leadership.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related analytical field.
- 2-4 years of experience in trading, research, or structuring with exposure to structured credit or fixed‑income markets.
- Strong quantitative toolkit; advanced Excel required. Experience with Python, SQL, or VBA is a plus.
- Solid understanding of fixed‑income products, credit markets, and securitized asset pools.
- Familiarity with financial modeling, valuation methods, and basic risk frameworks.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑moving market environment with strong attention to detail.
- Clear communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
