Senior Pricing Actuary

Selby Jennings have partnered with a respected Lloyd's syndicate is seeking a Senior Pricing Actuary to join its growing team. This role offers the opportunity to work across a broad and evolving portfolio of specialty lines, including property, casualty, marine, and other complex risks. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and delivering pricing models that support underwriting decisions, while also providing actuarial input on referrals, rate change, inflation, and price adequacy analyses.

The role involves close collaboration with underwriters to shape deal-level decisions and challenge assumptions, as well as monitoring account performance to identify profitability trends and drive portfolio optimisation. The Senior Pricing Actuary will contribute to strategic pricing initiatives, support actuarial controls and peer review processes, and explore innovative analytical approaches and data sources. This position reports directly to the Head of Pricing and offers a clear path toward future management responsibilities.

This is a high-impact role offering direct access to underwriting and senior leadership, with the opportunity to influence real-time decisions and contribute to longer-term strategic projects. The successful candidate will join a collaborative and fast-paced environment with significant scope for innovation, career growth, and leadership development.

Role Requirements:

  • Fully Qualified Actuary (FIA or equiv.).
  • At least 8 years of actuarial pricing experience within the Lloyd's market.
  • Strong technical pricing skills across multiple classes of business.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities, with the ability to translate complex analysis into actionable insights.
  • A commercial mindset and sound judgment in making decisions amid ambiguity.
  • Proficiency in Python, hx Renew, R, SQL, and data visualisation tools such as PowerBI or Tableau.
