Overview

Our client is seeking a highly experienced actuarial professional to lead strategic initiatives and enhance actuarial operations across pricing, reserving, and financial reporting. This leadership role is instrumental in shaping commercial lines strategy, driving analytical innovation, and mentoring a team of actuaries. Ideal candidates will bring deep technical expertise, strong business acumen, and a passion for solving complex challenges through data.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and execute strategies that support profitability, manage risk capital, and guide product development in the Property & Casualty domain.
  • Lead the development and refinement of actuarial models for pricing, underwriting, and forecasting.
  • Oversee regulatory filings and ensure alignment with financial and strategic goals.
  • Monitor performance indicators and deliver insights that inform decision-making.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to address advanced actuarial issues such as reserve adequacy, trend analysis, and reinsurance strategy.
  • Establish new benchmarks and metrics to support data-driven strategies.
  • Advocate for the integration of actuarial analytics across business units.
  • Manage the annual planning cycle, including budgeting and variance analysis.
  • Provide leadership and development opportunities for actuarial staff.
  • Stay informed on industry trends through professional networks and thought leadership.

Qualifications

  • At least 10 years of actuarial experience, including 3+ years in a leadership role.
  • Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Finance, Business, or a related field (Master's preferred).
  • Significant experience in Commercial Lines Pricing.
  • ACAS or FCAS designation
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, reserving methodologies, and risk management.
