Overview
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Lead Data Engineer with deep expertise in Oracle development, Python/Spark, and CI/CD automation. This leadership role involves designing and implementing scalable data solutions, optimizing system performance, and mentoring a team of developers. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical proficiency with proven project leadership experience.

Work Model
Hybrid - On-site required 8-10 days per month at the St. Petersburg, FL Office.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Development Projects: Oversee the full software development lifecycle, ensuring timely delivery and quality outcomes.
  • Oracle Database Development: Design and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and schemas for performance and scalability.
  • Performance Optimization: Analyze and enhance database efficiency for high-volume data operations.
  • Data Engineering: Utilize Pandas and Spark for data transformation, analysis, and processing.
  • Python Development: Build and maintain robust Python applications and automation scripts.
  • CI/CD Automation: Implement and manage pipelines using Jenkins and related tools to streamline deployment.
  • Team Leadership: Mentor junior developers and foster a collaborative, high-performance engineering culture.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive technical documentation for all development efforts.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience: 10+ years in software development with a strong focus on Python and Oracle databases.
  • Technical Skills: Expertise in SQL, Oracle, Python/Spark, Jenkins, Kubernetes, Pandas, and CI/CD practices.
  • Database Optimization: Solid understanding of performance tuning and best practices.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated success in leading development teams and managing complex projects.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Oracle, Python, Kubernetes, or CI/CD tools.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
