This is a highly visible, front-office-aligned role working closely with trading desks, with direct involvement in credit approvals, counterparty risk management, and deal structuring across a dynamic commodities environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform in-depth fundamental credit analysis on trading counterparties, assessing financial strength using both quantitative and qualitative factors

  • Assess credit implications of transactions across physical and financial trades, including debt and structured exposures
  • Monitor counterparty exposures and market indicators (e.g. share prices, CDS, financial ratios), proactively identifying early warning signals and escalating risks to senior management
  • Support structuring discussions by identifying key credit, documentation, and counterparty risks in deals
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external counterparties to ensure effective risk oversight
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of credit risk frameworks, policies, and approval processes
  • Ensure compliance with internal credit policies, delegated authorities, and regulatory requirements
  • Provide ad-hoc credit analysis and portfolio insights to support trading and management decision-making

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related discipline
  • Experience in credit risk / counterparty risk within commodities trading, oil & gas, or banking environments
  • Strong financial statement analysis skills and solid grounding in credit fundamentals
  • Proven ability to work closely with front office teams in a fast-paced, deal-driven environment
  • Strong commercial mindset with the ability to balance risk control and business facilitation
  • Adaptable, proactive, and comfortable operating in a dynamic trading environment
