Oil Portfolio Manager - Global Hedge Fund
An established hedge fund is looking to add an experienced Oil Portfolio Manager to its existing commodities business in London, Dubai, or another major European hub.
The fund is open to a range of trading approaches across crude oil and related products. This could include directional, relative-value, spread or volatility-focused strategies. The key requirement is a strong track record, clear ownership of risk and an investment process that can translate well into a hedge fund environment.
The opportunity could suit an existing Oil PM or a senior trader from a bank, major, trading house or proprietary firm who can demonstrate independently generated P&L.
What they are looking for
- A strong and clearly attributable track record trading oil
- Experience across crude oil and potentially refined products
- An ability to identify opportunities across outright markets, curves, spreads and derivatives
- Strong knowledge of physical balances, inventories, logistics and refinery economics
- Independent idea generation and genuine ownership of risk
- A clear approach to position sizing, portfolio construction and drawdown management
- A liquid and repeatable strategy that can scale with additional capital
- The ability to explain where returns have come from across different market conditions
The PM will join an established commodities platform with strong infrastructure, meaningful capital and an existing base of investment expertise. The fund can offer competitive P&L-linked compensation, with scope to grow the allocation based on performance.
The position can be based in London, Dubai or another major European hub.
