Middle Office Loan Closer
We're partnering with a leading global financial institution to hire a Secondary Loan Closing Associate to join its Financial Markets Middle Office team in New York. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional with syndicated loan operations experience who wants exposure to the full trade lifecycle in a highly visible and collaborative environment.
In this role, you'll support the end-to-end processing of secondary loan trades, working closely with Trading, Legal, Risk, Finance, Technology, and external counterparties to ensure accurate and timely settlements across both LMA and LSTA markets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the full lifecycle of secondary loan trades from trade capture through settlement
- Process and close both LMA and LSTA loan transactions
- Review credit agreements and supporting legal documentation
- Draft and negotiate trade confirmations, transfer documents, pricing letters, and settlement documentation
- Coordinate settlements with counterparties, legal counsel, and internal stakeholders
- Manage workflows through Loan IQ and ClearPar
- Monitor trade activity, resolve exceptions, and escalate issues where necessary
- Support operational improvement initiatives and regulatory requirements
- Assist with audit requests, risk management, and process enhancement projects
Requirements:
- 3+ years of secondary loan closing experience
- Strong knowledge of LSTA and LMA market practices
- Experience managing the full trade lifecycle
- Hands-on experience with Loan IQ required
- Experience with ClearPar and paper settlements
- Understanding of loan assignments, novations, transfers, and withholding tax concepts
- Exposure to structured credit products, including Loan TRS/TRCLI, is a plus
