Our client is a globally recognized crypto trading firm with a strong presence across major financial hubs in UK, US and Asia. As part of their strategic expansion into continental Europe, they are establishing a new office in Amsterdam and seeking a seasoned compliance leader to spearhead regulatory efforts in the region.
The Role
We are recruiting for a Head of Compliance, who will take full ownership of the firm's compliance strategy and execution across Continental Europe, with a particular focus on securing and maintaining MiCA (Markets in Crypto-Assets) licensing in the Netherlands. This is a pivotal role for someone who thrives in fast-paced, high-growth environments and is passionate about shaping the future of digital asset regulation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end MiCA licensing process for the European entity.
- Develop and implement a robust compliance framework aligned with EU regulatory requirements.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for European regulators and external legal advisors.
- Monitor regulatory developments and ensure proactive compliance adjustments.
- Collaborate with global compliance, legal, and operations teams to ensure consistency and alignment.
- Build and manage the local compliance team as the Amsterdam office scales.
- Advise senior leadership on compliance risks and strategic regulatory matters.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- 7-10 years of compliance experience, ideally within trading, crypto, or financial services.
- Deep understanding of EU financial regulations, particularly MiCA and AML requirements.
- Proven track record of managing licensing processes and regulatory relationships.
- Entrepreneurial mindset and comfort working in a dynamic, evolving regulatory landscape.
