Financial Controller
About the Role
Our client, an established financial services organisation based in Amsterdam, is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Financial Controller to strengthen their finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining robust internal controls, and supporting strategic decision‑making through high‑quality financial analysis.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Maintain and improve internal control frameworks and financial processes
- Manage general ledger activities and ensure accurate account reconciliation
- Support external audits and liaise with auditors
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to management
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and internal policies
- Contribute to process improvements and financial projects
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in a similar finance or controlling role
- Experience in the financial services industry is a plus
- Strong knowledge of Dutch GAAP and IFRS
- Advanced Excel skills; experience with ERP systems is preferred
- Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills in English; Dutch is an advantage
