Experienced Investment Banking Analyst
A specialist boutique, middle‑market, investment banking firm is hiring an Investment Banking Analyst within its M&A practice. This role sits in a sector‑focused advisory platform covering chemicals, materials, and other technically complex industries and is well‑suited for candidates seeking hands‑on mergers and acquisitions experience in a lean, execution‑oriented environment.

- Build and maintain valuation and financial models, including DCF, comparable company analysis, precedent transactions, and select LBO frameworks
- Prepare client‑facing materials such as offering memoranda, management presentations, and transaction analyses
- Support all aspects of the due diligence process and assist with transaction execution through closing
- Participate in transaction meetings and work directly with senior bankers in small deal teams
What We're Looking For:
- Undergraduate degree with a strong academic record; STEM or quantitative backgrounds strongly preferred
- For experienced candidates: one to four years of experience in finance or financial services (e.g., valuation, FP&A, corporate finance, transaction advisory)
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated interest in mergers & acquisitions and capital markets
*Prior traditional investment banking experience is not required; candidates from finance‑adjacent or technical backgrounds are encouraged to apply.*
Why This Opportunity Stands Out:
- High exposure to senior bankers and direct involvement in live M&A transactions
- Small, collaborative deal teams providing early responsibility and visibility
- Structured analyst role with a multi‑year horizon and strong internal growth potential
- Competitive compensation with a firm-wide bonus structure and protected junior pay in down years
- A culture that balances high‑performance expectations with sustainability and longevity
