A leading investment banking platform is seeking an Associate to join its Transaction Advisory & Opinions practice within its broader valuation and advisory business. The firm works with financial sponsors, corporate clients, and boards on a variety of strategic transactions, providing independent advice and analytical support across complex situations.
The team focuses on delivering fairness opinions, solvency opinions, and valuation analyses in connection with mergers and acquisitions, restructurings, recapitalizations, and other board-level matters. This is a growth-oriented platform offering strong exposure to senior leadership and a high level of responsibility.
The firm operates under a hybrid model with a strong emphasis on in-person collaboration during the workweek.
Overview:
This role provides the opportunity to build deep technical expertise while working on a wide range of transaction-driven engagements. The Associate will be actively involved in executing analyses, preparing materials for senior stakeholders, and supporting both live deal work and business development initiatives. The environment is fast-paced and team-oriented, with an emphasis on initiative and ownership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and review detailed financial models and valuation analyses, including discounted cash flow, comparable company, and precedent transaction methodologies
- Draft and refine presentation materials for board and committee-level audiences
- Manage workflow across multiple engagements and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders
- Analyze diligence materials and track key workstreams throughout the transaction process
- Support client communication and information gathering efforts
- Assist with preparation of pitch materials and broader team initiatives
Qualifications:
- Strong analytical foundation with a solid understanding of financial statements and valuation techniques
- Advanced Excel and financial modeling capabilities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams in a deadline-driven environment
- Prior experience in investment banking, valuation, or a related field (typically 4-7 years)
- Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline with a strong academic record
- Professional certifications (e.g., CPA or progress toward CFA) are a plus
