European Distressed Debt Fundraiser
A specialist boutique investment firm with sub-€500m AUM is seeking its first dedicated business development professional to lead fundraising efforts and help scale the business. The firm has built a strong track record investing in distressed debt and defaulted credit across European markets, with a focus on opportunities arising from bankruptcy and restructuring situations.
Historically, the investor base has grown organically with limited formal marketing. The firm is now at an inflection point and is looking to take a more proactive approach to capital raising, with the aim of broadening its investor base and increasing AUM through targeted outreach and strategic relationship-building.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead fundraising and investor relations efforts across HNWIs, family offices, and institutional investors.
- Develop and execute a strategic marketing and capital raising plan.
- Represent the firm's unique strategy and track record to prospective investors.
- Work independently and autonomously, with flexibility on location and working style.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Proven experience raising capital for alternative investment strategies, ideally from smaller managers.
- Strong investor network across Europe, particularly in the UK and German-speaking regions.
- Ability to articulate complex credit strategies to sophisticated investors.
- Entrepreneurial mindset; comfortable building out a function from scratch.
- Fluent in English; German language skills a plus.
