Director, Institutional Business Development (Hedge Fund)
Our client is a leading, global asset manager in New York who oversees trillions in assets for both institutional and individual investors.
Building on the strength of its existing strategies and track record of success, the business recently announced the launch of a new hedge fund within their fixed income business which aims to deliver attractive total returns while maintaining robust risk management and diversification. The new hedge fund is seeking a senior-level distribution professional to spearhead fundraising efforts and drive AUM growth.
- Engage with clients, prospects, and consultants to effectively communicate the investment philosophy, capabilities, and performance of the hedge fund business.
- In partnership with internal sales teams, develop and execute the hedge fund distribution strategy, including client segmentation and competitive positioning.
- Conduct market research to identify potential clients and growth opportunities, providing insights and recommendations to drive sales.
- Ensure all sales activities comply with regulatory requirements and internal policies, managing risks associated with fixed income investments.
- Collaborate with relationship managers to drive opportunities, including preparing meeting materials, gathering client background information, liaising with clients, participating in portfolio review meetings and product pitches, leading follow-ups, and contributing to RFP responses.
- Ensure the operating model functions efficiently across the distribution lifecycle and work with stakeholders to establish infrastructure supporting future growth.
- 10-15+ years of proven experience successfully raising assets across public and private credit.
- Must have strong investor relationships in North America and a strong fundraising track record.
- Deep understanding of the needs of a broad range of institutional clients, including corporates, public pensions, endowments, foundations, and family offices
- Strong knowledge of fixed income securities, bond pricing, yield analysis, and the ability to clearly explain these concepts to clients.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain investment concepts and strategies effectively.
