Data Engineer - Hedge Fund (London)
Our client, an award-winning global hedge fund with over 1,000 employees, is expanding into the crypto and digital asset space. They are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to join their Systematic Technology Group, which designs and evolves the systems powering quantitative investment strategies.

As a Data Engineer, you will build and optimise a scalable data platform that supports systematic workflows, including data lakes and repositories used across trading and research teams.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement robust ETL pipelines to ingest and process market data from vendors and third-party sources.
  • Ensure data quality, integrity, and consistency across cloud-based data architectures.
  • Collaborate with quantitative portfolio managers to support financial modelling and research.
  • Optimise long-term data architecture and automation frameworks for scalability and performance.

Key Requirements

  • 5+ years of programming experience in Python, Java, or C++.
  • 3+ years of hands-on data modelling experience, including relational and time-series data structures.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL and NoSQL database systems.
  • Familiarity with financial data-sets such as Security Master, Tick Data, Reference Data, and BAR pricing.
