C++ Software Engineer - HFT

Our client is a leading quantitative trading and market-making firm that leverages cutting-edge technology to trade global financial markets. They are seeking talented C++ Software Engineers to join a high-performance engineering environment where technology plays a direct role in the firm's success.

Working closely with traders, quantitative researchers, and fellow engineers, you will develop and optimise latency-sensitive systems responsible for market connectivity, real-time market data processing, and automated trading. This is an opportunity to work on challenging technical problems at scale, where performance improvements can have an immediate impact on the business.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain high-performance applications in modern C++.
  • Build and optimise low-latency systems used in electronic trading environments.
  • Work on exchange connectivity, market data processing, and trading infrastructure.
  • Contribute to a large, complex codebase used across the organisation.
  • Partner directly with traders and quantitative researchers to develop new functionality and improve existing systems.
  • Take ownership of projects from design and implementation through to deployment and production support.
  • Drive improvements in performance, scalability, reliability, and maintainability.

Requirements

  • 2-10 years of commercial C++ development experience.
  • Strong Computer Science or related technical degree.
  • Excellent understanding of algorithms, data structures, operating systems, networking, and concurrency.
  • Experience working within large and complex codebases.
  • Proven ability to build high-performance, scalable software systems.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across a variety of technical teams.
  • Passion for solving complex technical problems in a fast-paced environment.
