Corporate Actions Lead - APAC Markets

A leading hedge fund with a single investment committee structure and over $4B USD in assets under management is seeking a seasoned Corporate Actions Lead to oversee the full lifecycle of corporate actions across APAC markets. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with strong market knowledge and a collaborative mindset.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end corporate actions process including event capture, validation, elections, entitlement calculations, postings, break resolution, and reconciliation of cash and securities.
  • Handle both mandatory and voluntary events such as dividends, stock splits, rights issues, tenders, mergers, buy-backs, and DRPs, ensuring accuracy through issuer documentation, exchange notices, and custodian communications.
  • Support dividend capture and optimization strategies, working closely with Securities Lending and Trading teams.
  • Coordinate withholding tax reclaims across APAC jurisdictions and maintain all necessary documentation.
  • Identify and communicate trading risks and opportunities arising from corporate actions, ensuring timely dissemination of cut-offs and options to trading desks and stakeholders.
  • Maintain strong control frameworks including break management and KPI tracking; escalate and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Collaborate with Technology teams to automate workflows and improve reporting capabilities; contribute to testing and implementation of new systems.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams, custodians, issuers, and external counterparties across multiple time zones.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in corporate actions, portfolio financing, or treasury operations.
  • Deep understanding of APAC market practices and regulatory environments.
  • Proven ability to manage complex workflows and communicate effectively across teams.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience with automation initiatives and system enhancements is a plus.
