Company Summary: We are currently partnered with a leading private equity platform with several billion in assets under management is seeking a Controller to take a key leadership role within its finance organization. The firm invests across multiple buyout fund groups and partners closely with founder‑led, tech-focused businesses.
The Controller will oversee fund accounting, management company accounting, and expanded GP entity oversight, while managing third‑party administrators and audit relationships. A major focus of the role is driving process scalability, internal controls, and technology‑enabled improvements, including thoughtful use of AI tools.
Controller Responsibilities
- Fund Accounting: Oversee administrators, reviews, capital activity, audits, and compliance.
- Investor Reporting: Produce LP reports and coordinate data collection with investment teams and portfolio companies.
- Management/GP Accounting: Manage financials, forecasting, audits, tax filings, and close processes.
- Process & Technology: Improve controls, streamline workflows, and drive tech/AI adoption.
- Leadership: Manage and mentor finance team members as a hands‑on leader.
Controller Requirements
- 8 to 12 years of Private Equity or Venture Capital fund accounting experience.
- Bachelor's Degree in finance, accounting or related field.
- CPA preferred.
