Commodity Risk Analyst (3-5 Years' Experience)

A leading global investment platform is seeking a high-calibre Commodity Risk Analyst to join a rapidly growing business. This is a front-facing risk role with exposure across both physical and financial commodities, supporting a dynamic and expanding trading environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Partner closely with trading desks to provide risk oversight and challenge across commodity portfolios
- Analyse and monitor market risk exposures, with an initial focus on power and natural gas
- Assess risks across both physical and derivative positions
- Develop and enhance risk frameworks, tools and analytics
- Contribute to stress testing, scenario analysis and limit monitoring
- Engage with cross-functional teams including trading, quantitative research and senior management
Candidate Profile
Experience
- 3-5 years' experience in market risk, trading risk, or a related analytical function
- Background in commodities preferred, particularly power or gas
- Open to candidates from broader fixed income or cross-asset risk backgrounds
Technical Skills
- Strong quantitative and analytical skillset
- Experience working with market risk methodologies and risk systems
- Ability to interpret complex data and translate insights into actionable outcomes
Education
- Degree from a top-tier university
- Strong academic background in a quantitative discipline such as:
- Mathematics
- Statistics
- Engineering
- Finance or similar
- Advanced degrees are advantageous but not essential
