Role Overview
We are seeking a Front Office Business Manager to support the Equities Prime Financing business within a leading Global Corporate & Investment Bank. This role sits alongside senior trading and Prime Financing leadership and plays a critical role in business strategy, market risk oversight, infrastructure transformation, and operational delivery across Prime Brokerage and Prime Financing.
The role has specific responsibility for front‑office infrastructure migration initiatives affecting Prime Finance, requiring close coordination across trading, technology, operations, risk, and change teams.
The successful candidate will combine business management expertise, hands‑on market risk experience, and strong exposure to Equities, Prime Financing, and Prime Brokerage platforms.
Key Responsibilities
Business & Strategic Management
- Act as a trusted business partner to Equities Prime Financing and Prime Brokerage leadership
- Drive strategic planning, execution, and performance management across the Prime business
- Support balance sheet optimisation, growth initiatives, and new product onboarding
- Prepare and deliver senior‑level governance, strategy, and performance materials
Infrastructure Migration & Change Delivery (Prime Finance)
- Own and lead front‑office infrastructure migration projects within Prime Financing
- Coordinate migrations of:
- Trading, financing, and risk platforms
- Booking models, data flows, and downstream reporting
- Act as the front‑office representative for technology‑led transformation initiatives
- Ensure migrations are delivered with:
- Zero disruption to trading and client activity
- Full alignment with risk, control, and regulatory expectations
- Manage dependencies across Technology, Operations, Risk, Finance, and external vendors
- Oversee testing, parallel runs, cutover planning, and post‑implementation stability
Market Risk & Front Office Risk Oversight
- Partner closely with Market Risk to monitor:
- Exposure, sensitivities, stress scenarios, and limit utilisation
- Ensure infrastructure changes correctly reflect market risk measurement and reporting
- Translate risk metrics into commercial and strategic insights for front‑office leadership
- Challenge risk outcomes in the context of Prime Financing activity and platform changes
Financial Oversight & Controls
- Monitor front‑office financial KPIs, revenues, and cost drivers
- Assess impacts of platform migrations on:
- Funding, balance sheet usage, and capital efficiency
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and cost‑management initiatives
Governance, Regulatory & Control Framework
- Ensure Prime Finance activities and migrations comply with internal governance and regulatory requirements
- Own front‑office controls related to infrastructure change, issue remediation, and audit interaction
- Coordinate responses to internal and external regulatory inquiries impacting Prime Brokerage
Stakeholder Management
- Act as a central coordination point between:
- Prime Financing and trading desks
- Technology and change teams
- Market Risk, Credit Risk, Finance, Legal, Compliance, and Operations
- Influence senior stakeholders across front office and control functions globally
Required Experience & Skills
Essential Experience
- Proven experience as a Front Office Business Manager
- Hands‑on market risk experience, ideally within Equities or Prime Financing
- Strong exposure to:
- Equities products
- Prime Financing
- Prime Brokerage
- Demonstrated ownership of front‑office infrastructure or platform migration projects
Technical & Product Expertise
- Strong understanding of:
- Equity derivatives, margining, and financing structures
- Prime Brokerage operating and booking models
- Market risk frameworks (VaR, stress testing, sensitivities)
- Ability to assess how technology and infrastructure changes impact:
- Risk, P&L, balance sheet, and controls
Professional Skills
- Excellent stakeholder and change‑management capability
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
- Commercial mindset with a strong control orientation
- Comfortable operating in a fast‑paced front‑office environment
Education & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field
- CFA, FRM, or MBA beneficial but not required
