Position Overview
We are seeking a customer-focused Benefits Service Representative to support employees with questions related to their benefit plans and enrollment. This role serves as a key point of contact for client employees, delivering a high-quality service experience while ensuring accurate processing of benefit information.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to inbound calls and make scheduled outbound calls to assist employees with benefits-related inquiries
- Guide employees through benefit plan options and complete enrollments over the phone in a clear and professional manner
- Accurately enter and maintain enrollment data in internal systems
- Assist with common service requests including ID card replacements, provider searches, address updates, and qualifying life events
- Support resolution of claims issues, disputes, and escalated service concerns
- Review and confirm all coverage selections, dependents, and payroll deductions with employees
- Document all interactions, including calls and emails, within tracking systems to meet performance expectations
- Complete administrative and follow-up tasks efficiently to ensure timely processing
- Maintain confidentiality of all client, carrier, and company information
Qualifications
- High school diploma required; bachelor's degree preferred
- Bilingual in English and Spanish required
- Prior experience in employee benefits or the insurance industry preferred
- Active California Life and Disability License, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
- Strong understanding of employee benefit plans
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and client accounts in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with virtual meeting platforms such as Microsoft Teams or Zoom
