Azure Cloud Engineer
My Client, a Quant Trading Firm is looking for an Azure Based Cloud Engineer to come in and operate the cloud platform supporting the their high performance trading systems. The Cloud Engineer will own the cloud platform, security posture, and trading environment, while overseeing and coordinating with an external IT provider to ensure correct execution around identity, tenant governance, and transition activities.
The ideal candidate for this role will have a p understanding of Azure cloud and comfortable with networking/compute/storage and identity. In addition to strong security fundamentals and comfortable with the autonomy with their works and working in a fast moving team.
Key Responsibility's:
- Design, build, and operate Azure environments supporting a live trading platform, including: AKS / Container Apps, Postgres, Redis, Event Hubs, Kafka and Storage accounts
- Define and maintain secure cloud architecture, including networking, segmentation, private endpoints, and isolation.
- Build and manage infrastructure using Terraform and Azure CLI, ensuring consistency, traceability, and controlled change.
- Own cloud environments across development, UAT, and production.
- Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines with robust deployment, rollback, and smoke-testing strategies.
- Collaborate with backend, data, and product teams to ensure scalable, secure, and performant platform design.
Key Requirements:
- Proven hands-on experience as a Cloud Engineer working with Microsoft Azure.
- Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
- Deep understanding of Azure networking, compute, storage, and identity.
- Experience operating production cloud environments with high availability and security requirements.
- Strong security fundamentals, including access control, encryption, logging, and auditing.
- Comfortable working autonomously in a small, fast-moving team with high ownership.
- Experience in working within FinTech, Trading, or other security driven environments is advantageous.
