Asst. Controller / Controller
Selby Jennings is currently partnered with a top-end asset manager. This firm is a leading global investment management company and has consistently been ranked among top places to work within asset management.
Due to organizational growth, they are looking to bring on an Asst. Controller / Controller to support the private credit business and broader alternatives strategy. This role will work directly with the MD of the group and have an opportunity to help build out the team going forward. There is a direct opportunity for growth within this role as the team and strategy expands.
Responsibilities Include:
- Oversight and preparation of private credit/BDC financial statements
- Assisting with capital account statements, performance reporting, and capital call/distribution notices
- Management and incentive calculations
- Budgeting and forecasting
- Working with and managing third party / external vendor relationships
- Assistance with year-end tax and audit
- Working with the wider leadership team to evaluate current and new complex investment strategies
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- BDC accounting experience a plus
- 7-10+ years of experience within Private Credit
- Active CPA license is required
- Knowledge of relevant financial statements (10-K, 10-Q, 8-K)
- Ability to work cross-functionally with other members of the team to ensure timely and accurate completion of deliverables
