Assistant Manager, Statistical Reporting
Our client, a leading P&C insurance firm is looking to bring on an Assistant Manager, Statistical Reporting. This position will be reporting to the Manager of Statistical Reporting, and is critical to the successful delivery of statutory financial reporting requirements for a group of U.S.-domiciled Property & Casualty insurance entities. The ideal candidate will bring P&C insurance experience, strong statutory reporting and analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams in a complex and evolving environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as both preparer and primary reviewer for a wide range of statutory financial reporting deliverables included in quarterly and annual statement filings, including detailed exhibits related to premiums and losses by line of business and risk location.
- Support the refinement, design, and ongoing execution of analytics across all financial reporting outputs.
- Execute critical internal control activities central to the quarterly and annual close, including reviewing analyses, reconciliations, and other work prepared by offshore team members.
- Develop and apply advanced knowledge of the organization's reporting systems to address ad hoc analytical requests; proactively anticipate future needs and drive process improvements for greater efficiency.
- Provide timely input for state, rating agency, and analyst inquiries related to reported results, collaborating with various internal stakeholders.
- Contribute to projects and workstreams involving changes in reporting requirements and broader organizational initiatives.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- 5+ years of progressive experience in finance roles (controlling, analytics, financial reporting) within the Property & Casualty insurance industry
- Strong technical accounting background in P&C insurance, with the ability to connect business drivers to accounting outcomes in financial results
- Solid operational controllership experience within an NAIC statutory reporting environment
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across finance and operational teams
- Exceptional attention to detail, with a commitment to accuracy and precision
- Comfort operating in a dynamic and transformational environment, with the ability to embrace change and support ongoing process improvement initiatives
