Accounting Manager - Chicago
A rapidly growing cloud-based software company in the financial technology space is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join its dynamic Finance team. This is a high-impact role reporting directly to the Controller, with strong visibility across senior leadership.
The ideal candidate is a CPA with a strong foundation in technical accounting, a passion for process improvement, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
- Review and approve journal entries and account reconciliations
- Drive process improvements to enhance reporting accuracy and efficiency
- Assist in preparing consolidated financial statements under US GAAP
- Support the preparation of statutory accounts under local GAAP
- Manage and support external audits
- Provide technical accounting guidance to internal team
Qualifications
- CPA required
- 7+ years of accounting experience, ideally a mix of public accounting and industry
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Strong understanding of technical accounting and SEC reporting
- Advanced Excel modeling skills
- Experience with NetSuite is a plus
- Prior exposure to SaaS, PaaS, IaaS, or Fintech environments is highly desirable
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset
