Client Manager - Employee Benefits Cost Containment
Position Overview
We are seeking a strategic and client-focused Client Manager to join a growing point solution organization dedicated to helping employers reduce and better manage healthcare and employee benefits costs. This role serves as the primary relationship owner for a portfolio of employer clients, ensuring successful implementation, adoption, and ongoing optimization of cost-containment solutions.
The ideal candidate brings deep knowledge of employer-sponsored health plans, a consultative mindset, and a proven ability to drive measurable outcomes in benefits cost reduction and employee engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Client Relationship Management
- Serve as the primary day-to-day contact for assigned clients, building strong, trusted partnerships with HR, benefits, and finance stakeholders
- Lead recurring client meetings (quarterly business reviews, strategy sessions, and performance updates)
- Ensure high client satisfaction, retention, and expansion through proactive service and ongoing value demonstration
Benefits Cost Containment Strategy
- Partner with clients to identify cost drivers within their health and welfare plans (e.g., high-cost claims, specialty pharmacy, network inefficiencies)
- Align company solutions to client-specific goals such as reducing claims spend, improving care navigation, or optimizing plan utilization
- Provide actionable recommendations based on utilization data, benchmarking, and industry trends
Implementation & Program Optimization
- Oversee onboarding and implementation of solutions, coordinating internally with operations, clinical, and technology teams
- Monitor program performance and utilization, identifying opportunities to improve engagement and savings outcomes
- Drive continuous optimization of solution deployment, including communication strategies and member outreach efforts
Data Analysis & Reporting
- Translate complex claims and utilization data into clear, client-ready insights
- Deliver regular reporting on cost savings, ROI, engagement metrics, and program impact
- Leverage analytics to tell a compelling story of value and identify opportunities for expansion
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with sales to support renewals, upsells, and strategic account growth
- Act as the "voice of the client" internally, influencing product development, service delivery, and innovation
- Collaborate with marketing on client communications and engagement campaigns
Required Qualifications
- 5-10+ years of experience in employee benefits, healthcare consulting, or account management within a healthtech or point solution environment
- Strong knowledge of employer-sponsored health plans, including medical, pharmacy, and cost drivers
- Experience working with self-funded and fully insured employer groups
- Proven ability to manage complex client relationships and drive measurable outcomes
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret claims and utilization data
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with cost-containment solutions such as navigation, reference-based pricing, centers of excellence, specialty pharmacy management, or care advocacy
- Background in consulting firms, brokers, TPAs, or healthcare technology vendors
- Familiarity with population health, value-based care models, or clinical program integration
- Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree or relevant certifications (CEBS, etc.) a plus

- Adoption and engagement levels across deployed solutions
