Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Account Executive to manage and grow a portfolio of public sector clients within the Employee Benefits practice. This role is responsible for leading client relationships, developing strategic benefit plans, and ensuring high levels of service and retention. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of public sector benefits and a consultative approach to client management.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary relationship manager for assigned public sector clients.
- Develop and implement strategic employee benefit plans tailored to public sector needs.
- Lead renewal and marketing efforts, including funding analysis and vendor negotiations.
- Stay current on legislative and regulatory changes affecting public sector benefits and advise clients accordingly.
- Collaborate with internal teams (compliance, actuarial, wellness, communications) to deliver integrated solutions.
- Present insights and recommendations to client leadership, including benchmarking and cost containment strategies.
- Identify opportunities to expand services and deepen client relationships.
- Support RFP responses and contribute to new business development efforts.
Qualifications
- 7-10+ years of experience in employee benefits consulting or account management, with a focus on public sector clients.
- Strong understanding of group health, dental, vision, life, disability, and voluntary benefits.
- Familiarity with public sector funding models, union environments, and compliance requirements.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively across teams.
- Bachelor's degree required; CEBS or other industry certifications preferred.
