We are currently representing a top-tier multi-manager hedge fund in their search for a Metals & Mining Equity Research Analyst to join an experienced Portfolio Manager's team. The Opportunity:
This role offers the chance to work directly with a seasoned Portfolio Manager, contributing deep sector insights and differentiated investment ideas within the Metals & Mining space. The fund is open to candidates from long/short, long-biased, or long-only backgrounds, provided they bring strong buyside experience and a passion for fundamental research.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct in-depth fundamental research and financial modeling on companies within the Metals & Mining sector.
- Generate and present high-conviction investment ideas to the Portfolio Manager.
- Monitor industry trends, commodity cycles, and macroeconomic factors impacting the materials space.
- Collaborate closely with the PM and broader investment team to refine portfolio construction and risk management strategies.
Candidate Profile:
- Minimum 3 years of buyside experience in equity research or investment analysis.
- Strong coverage in Metals & Mining is highly preferred; adjacent materials sectors also considered.
- Demonstrated ability to produce actionable investment ideas and communicate them effectively.
- Self-starter with intellectual curiosity, commercial acumen, and a collaborative mindset.
