Investment Banking Analyst/Associate
Selby Jennings is partnering with a boutique investment bank that specializes in Cross-Border M&A advisory, primarily representing Japanese corporates and U.S. subsidiaries of Japanese companies on strategic acquisitions across North America. They are looking for an Investment Banking Analyst or Associate to join their team in Los Angeles.
Responsibilities
- Support the execution of M&A, capital markets, and strategic advisory transactions.
- Build and maintain complex financial models, including valuation, merger consequences, LBO, and operating models.
- Prepare client presentations, pitch materials, confidential information memorandums (CIMs), and management presentations.
- Conduct financial, industry, and company-specific research and analysis.
- Assist with due diligence, transaction process management, and client communications.
- Evaluate strategic alternatives and provide analytical support for senior bankers and clients.
- Coordinate with clients, buyers, investors, attorneys, accountants, and other transaction participants.
- Monitor industry trends, comparable transactions, and market activity.
Qualifications
- 1 to 6 years of investment banking experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field.
- Strong financial modeling, valuation, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and financial databases.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Professional working proficiency in Japanese
