Director, Capital Formation - Remote

A growing alternative investment manager is seeking to add a Vice President / Director of Capital Formation to its team. The firm is entering its next phase of growth and is looking for a fundraising professional who can help expand its investor base and accelerate capital raising efforts.

The ideal candidate will have an established network of RIAs, Family Offices, and other private wealth channels, along with a proven ability to gain access to key decision-makers and successfully raise capital.

The Director of Capital Formation will be responsible for:
  • Spearheading fundraising initiatives across the firm's investment offerings.
  • Leveraging existing relationships within the RIA and Family Office community to source and develop new investor opportunities.
  • Identifying, engaging, and building relationships with owner-level decision-makers and investment committees.
  • Developing deep expertise in the firm's investment strategy to effectively communicate its value proposition to prospective investors.
  • Creating and executing a comprehensive business development and fundraising strategy to support AUM growth.
  • Conducting proactive outreach through meetings, calls, conferences, and industry events.
  • Building and maintaining a robust pipeline of RIAs, Family Offices, and private wealth prospects.
  • Partnering closely with firm leadership to refine fundraising initiatives, messaging, and market positioning.
  • Representing the firm at investor meetings and industry events nationwide.
  • Driving new asset growth through relationship-based business development efforts.
The Director of Capital Formation should have:
  • Proven experience raising capital from RIAs, Family Offices, and other private wealth channels.
  • Demonstrated success in capital formation, investor relations, fundraising, or business development roles.
  • An established network and strong ability to gain access to investment decision-makers.
  • A strong rolodex of RIA and Family Office relationships.
  • Experience working with alternative investment strategies preferred.
  • Excellent relationship-building, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Self-starter mentality with the ability to operate independently in an entrepreneurial environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple fundraising initiatives simultaneously.
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and a results-driven mindset.
  • Willingness to travel as needed to meet with current and prospective investors.
