Overview
Our client is a mission‑driven aerospace and defense organization seeking to add a high‑caliber Corporate Strategy professional to support enterprise growth initiatives. This individual will play a central role in evaluating and executing strategic transactions including mergers & acquisitions, joint ventures, and strategic partnerships. The position offers meaningful exposure to senior leadership and the opportunity to influence long‑term portfolio and growth strategy within a highly visible business segment.
Role & Responsibilities
- Lead end‑to‑end corporate development initiatives, including market assessments, target screening, valuation, financial modeling, and business case development.
- Own strategic and financial analyses supporting inorganic and organic growth opportunities, including accretion/dilution, sensitivity analysis, and go‑to‑market considerations.
- Source and evaluate potential acquisition and partnership opportunities; assess strategic fit and develop transaction rationale.
- Drive integration planning and collaborate cross‑functionally to ensure successful post‑transaction execution.
- Build, manage, and track a pipeline of strategic opportunities using a consistent, data‑driven framework.
- Prepare executive‑ready materials such as investment memoranda, strategic plans, and board‑level presentations.
- Present deal recommendations and strategic insights to senior leadership, including CEO, CFO, and SVP‑level stakeholders.
- Monitor industry trends and external market dynamics, including customer priorities, budget and appropriation trends, geopolitical considerations, and competitive landscape.
- Engage with the broader industry through conferences, trade shows, industry days, and site visits.
- Partner closely with Finance, Legal, Operations, Engineering, and Corporate M&A teams to ensure alignment and execution.
- Leverage advanced analytics and AI‑enabled tools to enhance research, modeling efficiency, and competitive assessments.
Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's degree required (Business, Economics, Engineering, or related field); MBA or equivalent preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in corporate development, M&A, strategy, investment banking, management consulting, private equity, or a closely related field.
- Strong preference for candidates with Aerospace, Defense, or Intelligence sector exposure.
- Demonstrated strength in financial modeling, valuation, and transaction analysis.
- Working knowledge of government budgeting, appropriations, acquisition processes, and requirements development strongly preferred.
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to present complex analyses clearly to executive audiences.
- Highly proactive, adaptable, and comfortable operating in a cross‑functional, matrixed environment.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word; familiarity with government opportunity portals and modern analytics/AI tools is a plus.
- Eligibility for a U.S. security clearance (active clearance strongly preferred).
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (up to ~25%).
