A growing organization in the insurance sector is seeking a Senior Statutory Accountant to support regulatory and legal‑entity reporting. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys detailed financial work, statutory reporting, and contributing to a high‑quality reporting environment.
About the Role
The Financial Reporting Associate will assist in preparing statutory financial statements, exhibits, footnotes, analytical reviews, and supplemental regulatory filings. The position also supports audit activities and process‑improvement initiatives across the reporting function.
Work Environment
This position is based in New York City and follows a hybrid work model.
What You'll Do
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for regulated entities.
- Complete statutory and standalone legal‑entity reporting, including relevant disclosures and analytics.
- Assist with annual audit processes by preparing documentation and supporting auditor requests.
- Identify and support improvements in reporting processes, workflow efficiency, and internal controls.
- Collaborate with regulatory and cross‑functional teams to address inquiries from oversight bodies.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory and reporting requirements.
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- At least 3 years of experience in accounting, financial reporting, or a related function.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience within the insurance industry, especially regulatory or statutory reporting.
- Big 4 experience a plus
- Familiarity with U.S. insurance reporting requirements and statutory accounting principles.
- CPA license or progress toward certification.
- Hands‑on experience preparing statutory filings or regulatory submissions.
