Senior Property Product Manager
Overview
We are actively working an exclusive client of ours who is seeking an experienced Senior Product Manager to support its Commercial Property line of business. This role is responsible for ensuring product competitiveness, compliance, and profitability by leading the development, enhancement, and maintenance of policy forms, underwriting guidelines, pricing structures, and rating rules. As a subject-matter expert, this individual will play a critical role in shaping product strategy, collaborating cross-functionally, and ensuring products remain responsive to market dynamics and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Product Strategy & Development
- Partner with business leaders to enhance and expand the commercial property insurance product suite.
- Lead the development and maintenance of coverage forms, endorsements, underwriting guidelines, and rating manuals.
- Drive new product development and enhancements aligned with market needs and business strategy.
Pricing & Profitability Management
- Support rate review processes and maintain pricing methodologies.
- Collaborate with actuarial teams to evaluate rate adequacy and guide pricing decisions.
- Analyze performance drivers and implement strategies to improve profitability and growth.
Regulatory & Compliance Oversight
- Partner with compliance teams to ensure all forms, rates, and rules meet regulatory requirements.
- Manage product filings with state insurance departments where applicable.
- Monitor and respond to regulatory changes, ISO updates, and legal developments affecting coverage.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with underwriting, actuarial, claims, legal, compliance, IT, and leadership teams.
- Collaborate with claims teams to understand loss trends and emerging risks.
- Partner with technology and operations teams to implement product and system changes.
Qualifications Required
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
- 8+ years of commercial product management experience (or 12+ years of broader commercial insurance experience).
- 3-5 years of specific experience in commercial property product development.
- Strong understanding of insurance policy structures, coverage design, and exposure analysis.
- Knowledge of actuarial concepts and pricing methodologies.
