Operational Project Manager (Remote)
This is a full-time, fully remote position, ideally suited for candidates located in the U.S. Eastern or Central time zones. The role focuses on leading operational transformation and system integration projects from start to finish. Key responsibilities include developing and managing detailed project plans with clear timelines, milestones, and resource allocation to ensure successful delivery. You will monitor progress using tools such as JIRA, ClickUp, and MS Planner, proactively identifying and resolving issues to maintain momentum. Acting as the primary point of contact for project communications, you will provide regular updates to stakeholders and leadership, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies throughout the project lifecycle. Additional duties include facilitating retrospectives to capture lessons learned, refining best practices for operational efficiency, and analyzing workflows to identify redundancies and opportunities for automation. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential to ensure alignment and execution of transformation goals, along with supporting knowledge sharing within the PMO.
The ideal candidate will hold a bachelor's degree in a business-related field and have 3-5 years of experience leading operational or system consolidation projects, preferably within insurance operations such as Property & Casualty or Employee Benefits. Prior experience with Applied Epic or BenefitPoint systems is strongly preferred. Candidates should demonstrate strong stakeholder management skills, proficiency in project management tools and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel), and excellent communication abilities. Strong organizational and analytical skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities, and a willingness to travel occasionally (minimal travel anticipated) are also required.
