Media Investment Banking Managing Director
Selby Jennings is looking to opportunistically speak with Media focused Investment Bankers across media and entertainment.
Ideal candidates work in Middle Market transactions with interest or book of business focused on M&A.
Key Responsibilities
Client Coverage & Origination
- Develop and maintain senior-level relationships with media companies, including film studios, streaming platforms, broadcasters, gaming firms, and digital content providers.
- Originate and structure M&A, equity, and debt transactions tailored to client needs.
- Identify emerging trends and advise clients on strategic opportunities in a rapidly evolving media landscape.
Deal Execution
- Lead end-to-end execution of transactions, including valuation, financial modeling, due diligence, and negotiation.
- Oversee preparation of pitch materials, offering memoranda, and regulatory filings.
- Ensure flawless execution and compliance with internal and external standards.
Team Leadership
- Mentor and manage a team of Vice Presidents, Associates, and Analysts.
- Drive talent development and foster a high-performance culture.
- Collaborate with product partners (ECM, DCM, Leveraged Finance) and cross-sector teams.
Strategic Insight
- Provide thought leadership on industry trends such as streaming economics, advertising technology, gaming monetization, and IP valuation.
- Represent the firm at industry conferences and client events.
Qualifications
- 12+ years of investment banking experience with a focus on media and entertainment.
- Proven track record of originating and closing large-cap M&A and capital markets transactions.
- Strong network of C-suite relationships within the media sector.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
- MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
