Market Risk | C&I Bank
I'm working with a well‑established financial institution in Hong Kong, known for a diversified platform spanning proprietary trading and asset management. They are strengthening their Market Risk function and are looking for an experienced Senior Associate / AVP to join their team.
This role sits close to the business and offers broad exposure across fixed income, listed securities, and derivatives, with plenty of visibility to senior stakeholders.
What does the role include?
In this position, you will support the Market Risk Team Head and be involved in:
- Daily monitoring of market and credit risk across trading and investment portfolios.
- Providing risk assessments for new investment proposals and contributing to product approval processes.
- Preparing regular risk reports for management.
- Supporting stress testing, VaR reviews, and broader portfolio risk analysis.
- Reviewing and enhancing risk limits, triggers, and overall framework controls.
- Assessing risks across new business initiatives and performing post‑investment reviews.
- Contributing to ad‑hoc risk projects, process improvements, and governance enhancements.
What experience do you need?
- Bachelor's degree or above in Finance, Business Analysis, or a quantitative field (professional qualifications are a plus).
- 4+ years of experience in market or credit risk, ideally from an investment bank or buy‑side environment.
- Solid understanding of fixed income and broader capital markets.
- Strong analytical skills and advanced Excel capability.
- Familiarity with asset management and principal investment risk monitoring.
- Ability to work independently, communicate clearly, and handle Chinese reporting where needed.
- A proactive, detail‑oriented approach with strong stakeholder engagement skills.
