M&A Corporate Development Associate Zug

Our client, a leading global organization in the natural resources sector is seeking a motivated and analytically driven Corporate Business Development Manager to join its high-performing team. This role is central to driving long-term value creation through strategic financial analysis, investment appraisal, and M&A execution.

This role will be instrumental in supporting strategic planning and growth initiatives across the organization. The successful candidate will collaborate with senior leaders across various departments to evaluate investment opportunities, optimize capital deployment, and support corporate development activities.

Key responsibilities:

  • Enhancing and maintaining a comprehensive strategic model that consolidates operational forecasts across the business to inform executive decision-making.
  • Performing rigorous financial assessments of internal projects, including expansion plans and capital investments.
  • Designing and refining financial models to evaluate different business scenarios and support strategic recommendations.
  • Preparing high-quality reports and presentations for senior management and board-level discussions.
  • Assessing potential acquisitions, joint ventures, and other external growth opportunities.
  • Coordinating with external advisors and internal stakeholders throughout deal lifecycles.
  • Assisting in deal structuring, negotiation, and post-deal integration.
  • Conducting market and competitor research to support strategic positioning and decision-making

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • A strong academic background, ideally with a postgraduate qualification in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related quantitative field. Professional certifications such as CFA, MBA, or FMVA are also valued.
  • 2-4 years of relevant experience in investment banking, corporate development, or transaction advisory, preferably within the commodities or infrastructure sectors.
  • Advanced financial modelling and valuation capabilities, including experience with discounted cash flow analysis and scenario planning.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesize complex data into clear insights.
  • A proactive and collaborative approach, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Fluency in English is essential; additional language skills are a plus.
  • Prior exposure to capital-intensive industries such as mining, energy, or infrastructure is advantageous.
