Key Responsibilities
- Execute physical LNG trading activities across the Pacific Basin, Middle East, JKTC, and Southeast Asia markets, while driving portfolio optimization and arbitrage opportunities in collaboration with the global trading team.
- Develop and execute profitable trading and hedging strategies through a deep understanding of LNG market fundamentals, including global supply-demand dynamics, pricing mechanisms, freight economics, contract structures, and risk management principles.
- Contribute to the development of a global LNG market view and translate market insights into actionable physical and financial trading strategies.
- Identify, evaluate, negotiate, and execute spot, short-term, and structured LNG transactions to maximize portfolio value.
- Manage and optimize price exposure across the global LNG portfolio, ensuring effective risk-adjusted returns.
- Work closely with financial trading, analytics, operations, and shipping teams to enhance trading performance and portfolio optimization.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on physical LNG markets, providing market intelligence and commercial insights to internal stakeholders.
- Partner with Origination teams to structure and assess medium- to long-term LNG supply and offtake opportunities.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with producers, utilities, traders, and end-users to expand market access and generate new trading opportunities.
- Conduct all trading activities in accordance with company policies, risk limits, governance frameworks, and compliance requirements.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of LNG trading experience, with direct exposure to Pacific Basin markets.
- Proven track record in physical LNG trading, portfolio optimization, and contract negotiations.
- Strong understanding of LNG market fundamentals, including pricing benchmarks, freight markets, supply-demand balances, and global trade flows.
- Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Marketing, or a related discipline.
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and commercial problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Excel, VBA, PowerPoint, and other trading analytics or digital tools, with the ability to evaluate market opportunities and quantify risks.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to articulate market views and trading strategies to both internal and external counterparts.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with strong commercial acumen and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic trading environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across trading, origination, operations, shipping, and risk functions.
