Lead Pricing Actuary

Selby Jennings have partnered with a reputable insurance carrier with a significant share in the Commercial Lines space across the UK, Europe, North America, and Asia. They offer a wide range of products to their vast client network of SME up to large-scale corporate businesses, including Property, Energy, Construction, ProFin, Cyber, and Liabilities.

They are seeking a Qualified Actuary to join as a Pricing Lead in their Commercial Mid-Market Pricing team, and work across both case and delegated authority pricing. While no direct reports, the Pricing Lead will act as a mentor to junior actuaries and analysts, involved in training and coaching them, and responsible for delegation of their workloads. This role will also maintain involvement in technical pricing and model development responsibilities, as well as collaborating with senior stakeholders to inform pricing strategies and steer portfolio performance.

This is a great opportunity for those around the 'Senior Pricing Analyst' and 'Pricing Actuary' levels, who are keen to take on more responsibility and see a clearer path to progress to a Manager role.

Role Requirements:

- Nearly or Newly Qualified Actuary (up to 2 years PQE), through IFoA or equivalent.

- 4-8 years of experience in Actuarial Pricing.

- Open to backgrounds in either Personal or Commercial Lines.

- Proficiency with Actuarial software, techniques, and programming languages (R, Python, SAS etc.)

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
