Investment Associate
Title: Analyst/Associate (depending on level of experience)
Location: Dallas, Texas (in-office)
The Analyst will support the firm's investment team across various stages of the investment process, including market research, initial screening of opportunities, financial modeling, due diligence support, and ongoing portfolio monitoring. This individual will play an important role in the investment process and have regular interaction with senior leadership.
Compensation: Competitive base salary and year-end performance bonus. Potential for advancement as the firm grows.
Key Responsibilities
The Analyst will be responsible for a broad range of functions including but not limited to:
- Investment and market research
- Financial analysis, valuation, and modeling of prospective transactions
- Industry and company competitive analysis (business due diligence)
- Contributing to the preparation of investment memos and presentations for internal and external stakeholders
- Tracking and managing the firm's deal pipeline
- Analyzing project investment opportunities, including review of related project and financing agreements
- Monitoring portfolio company performance through weekly reports and monthly calls/meetings.
- Assisting in the preparation of quarterly valuation reports
- Supporting business development and relationship-building efforts with industry and trade organizations
- Maintaining internal investment databases
- Staying current on industry trends and analyzing potential implications to current and prospective investments
Qualifications & Experience
We're looking for a self-starter with strong intellectual curiosity, critical thinking skills, and the ability to analyze and present complex information in a structured, concise manner.
Qualifications:
- Solid foundation in corporate finance and accounting
- Advanced financial modeling and forecasting skills (Excel modeling test required)
- Excellent writing and communication skills
Experience:
- 1-2 years of experience in private equity, investment banking, management consulting, or at a public accounting firm
- Strong academic credentials: CFA designation preferred or actively pursuing certification
Skills:
- High attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Highly analytical with strong problem-solving abilities
- Strong work ethic and ability to perform under time pressure
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Familiarity with data science or related tools is a plus
